The list of foods to avoid while pregnant is insane. Between the "offical" list and all the internet rumors it seems like you can't eat anything. Not that I am paying too much attention to these lists.

BTW, one of the items on the internet rumors list? Pinneapples. WTH?

The rumor it is could cause early labor.

I also just read you aren't supposed to eat "Fiber One" bars because they have chicory root extract in them.

I would stop reading pregnancy forums but I am sort of amazed by people that are OVERLY WORRIED ABOUT EVERYTHING.

For funzies you should state on a pregnancy forum that you plan not to breastfeed. Watch them swarm!!!

What would be even better is saying "If my baby tests positive for Downs, I'll terminate", which is true.

I actually saw someone post about their decision to terminate the pregnancy and the comments were brutal.

*gasps-and-stammers!* *Gasps! And! Stammers!*

I would say there would be pearl clutching, but pearls are a choking hazard to an unborn baby so Good Mommies burn them in a ritual, smoke-free, chemically-sound ceremony before birth.

(I totally would do the same thing w/r/t Downs too.)

I think most people do the same thing w/r/t Downs so I think it is funny that people act so outraged! It is this thing that people just don't talk about.

The hilarious part is that 90+% of women abort when they get a positive test for Downs. Just about EVERYONE does it. Yet still, honestly saying it online gets the OMG YOU MONSTER reactions.

EXACTLY. I think people react so badly because they don't think they would or don't want to face the fact that deep down they would.

Pineapple is a new one. The big things when I was pregnant were sushi, soft cheese, and deli meats. OMG DEATH TO THE BEBE.

Dont tell anyone, I eat deli meat.

I sort of love lunchables.

I would eat sushi if I found that at all appealing. Other than lunchables I am having it hard to eat meat at all.

In my first trimester of first pregnancy, I ate Frosted Flakes a lot. Smell of cooking meat was nasty.

Second pregnancy was better. I did do a lot more relaxation of the "rules". :)

The first trimester seems like the one you need to worry about the most. So many things are being formed. Then the baby just starts fattening up!

I ate pretty much exclusively sushi in the first tri with all my pregnancies.

Which is so funny to me because pretty much looking (or really thinking about) meat has made me sick. Except for lunchables so I eat those.
