Quilting

So, here are some pictures of the quilt top I did this weekend:

The middle:
Zach's new quilt top. I am going to add some borders so it will fit my tall husband better.

The borders:
Borders! Only three more seams to sew and I'll have a complete quilt top in a weekend! Might even get the backing pieced so I can pin it next weekend!

The whole top:
Quilt top in a weekend! Now I'll stop the quilt spam.

I feel a little guilty because I have so many other projects I could have worked on but didn't. However, the half-square triangle quilt is going to be slow going for a while. It is so tedious to cut them all out.

Easy Finishes:

Zach's quilt:
Time for pinning! The quilting should be easy.

Placemats:
Zach's mom's birthday present. They are only a year late. (Hopefully only that late)

Sampler Quilt (My first quilt top):
I need to finish quilting and binding it. I have made slow progress on it. If I can get it done before we go to Billings I can sew the binding on in the car. Also, I don't really like this quilt anymore which is why I don't want to finish it.

Star Sampler:
This goes hand in hand with the Virtual Bee Quilt but I was making duplicates out of all the stars that I was making for others. I have 3 or 4 that are cut out but need to be sewn together. Once that is done it goes to the "finish in 2013" pile.

Space Invader Quilt:
I just have binding to finish. I should get that done before I use the binding for something else. I should just cut the binding and iron it this week. Small steps.

Quilting Bee Wedding Quilt:
I need to fix the backing before we go to Billings. Then I will be long-arm quilting it. I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS.

More work to be done:

My cousin's baby's quilt:
I have picked out the pattern and have collected all the fabric (mostly the fabric I won a few weeks ago). This is what I am going to work on after I get a couple of the upper ones done.

Bird Quilt:
I just like the fabric and I started a quilt. It is all cut out and I should finish it before I hate the fabric. I am not sure who will get this quilt.

New Wave Quilt for Eric:
I didn't order enough fabric for the quilting bee so we ended up buying all new fabric. This is fine because the fabric I did get would be perfect for a quilt for Eric.

Hexie Quilt:
I make slow but steady progress on this. I have 45 flowers and need 200. It is a long road. I also think I am going to hand quilt this. Why? BECAUSE I AM CRAZY.

Virtual Bee Quilt:
I have 12 blocks but I want 24 total. I am putting this off until 2013/2014. Or I could just sew them together and be done with it. Hmm....

Half Triangle Quilt:
My aunt keeps sending me lots of fabric including a pack of rainbow fabric. I should work on the half square triangles that I have pinned but I need to cut more out.

I like it. I can't wait to get it done so Zach can use it in his office. :)

Your mad quilting skills are super-impressive, yo*. :)

*As long as I'm saying "yo" instead of "you" I think I'm going to change "skills" to "skillz"

I think calling it "Quilting Skillz" makes my hobby seem much more hardcore.

WHOA. That's totally amazing, I love it.

Also, I'm getting nostalgic seeing that photo of your hallway, and I'm fighting the urge to follow that statement with "isn't that dumb to be nostalgic about a hallway?" but I think I need to let myself feel this instead of telling myself it's stupid to feel it.

But I remember exactly what it sounds like in the stairwell, and the way the door feels when you open it. Little details. And the other day I was thinking about how much I enjoyed walking to Midtown Global Market in the afternoons, and how it felt to have the wedding coming up, that exciting unknown.

So many happy memories.

:), I am glad they are happy! It was a fun time.

It has almost been a year! That is so weird to me. It was so exciting and unknown and stressful and happy all at once.

BTW, My dad asks about you all the time. I always pull up your website to show him pictures. He is always "She is welcome anytime".

holy crap that's beautiful!

You have a good sense of color, something that doesn't come out that often.

I love all the different fabrics in the middle, could get lost in there.
