Toothbrush PSA

I went to the dentist today. No cavities which I am amazed by. I have a filling in everyone of my back teeth and until I started using an electric toothbrush I had to get a filling every six months. It sucked.

The electric toothbrush changed that. I can't get over how much a cheap change has helped so much. I have this electric toothbrush. It is $29 from amazon and you can buy it at target. Refill heads are like $4 a piece. It makes a huge difference. Seriously.

When Zach and I started dating he didn't have one and I just bought one for him. Now he can't stand regular brushing because his teeth don't feel clean.

I had the opposite experience. When I started using an electric toothbrush, my teeth didn't feel nearly as clean as they do when I do it manually. I do tend to have the problem of being extra assertive with my brushing (I really get in there and scrub), so the little wimpy electric bzzzzz just wasn't doing it. My dentist agreed that things didn't look quite as good with the electric, so I switched back to manual. She said she'd rather scold me for overbrushing than underbrushing. I do need to learn to scale it back a bit, though (an ultra-soft brush has helped).

How hard are you brushing! Wow!

My bottom front teeth are sort of crowded together and I always had a hard time brushing those ones. The electric toothbrush really helps me get in there. My siblings all got my dad's good teeth so they haven't moved over to an electric toothbrush and it drive me nuts that they all only have one or two fillings. I have always been a better brusher and I floss and my teeth just suck.

Sigh.
