From April through the end of June I did a "Virtual Bee" where you get 6 random people to make blocks for, in the colors they choose, and they each send you a block in the colors you picked.
These are the blocks I recieved from my beemates. One of the people wasn't able to finish so an "Angel Block" is being made by a person that signs up just to do that.
Anyways, I am doing this bee again August through the end of October then again next spring and summer (I decided that I should take a break right around the wedding).
Once I have 24 blocks I am going to make Zach a napping quilt. He picked the colors.
I am also making duplicates of the blocks I am making for my beemates so I should have a quilt top full of stars.
This is really fun for me. I rather like quilting and if I could just get over my block on the actual quilting part of quilting, I would have a lot of quilts done!

They are on 34th and Bloomington, which is awesome for me but might be a little out of the way for you. It was a really good class and the lady running it was awesome. Plus the people at the store are good at helping you pick out fabric.
This one is in Plymouth but I haven't been there yet: http://www.mybluebamboo.com/
I read a lot of quilting blogs and I sort of just started looking for them. However, the quilting world is mostly on flickr, here is the bee I am doing:

There are also quilt alongs, which I am also doing:

I read many more because I am obsessed. Also, you are going to fall in love with a lot of fabric.

I am doing one that has 3 month commitment instead of a year.
