ok, i am over my crankiness, i don't know what is different about today but it went well. weird.

So Jenni and i have volunteered to put together six holiday baskets from the Aliveness Project this year. This is my favorite charity and one that I used to volunteer at until too many people I met were dying and now I just support with money. Anyways, We ended up with a mom and her three children and two single men. The way this works is you spend about $30 dollars per person. If you want to help out by buy something for one of the baskets, tell me. It is mostly basic stuff that is needed and wanted. One of the med wanted a winter coat with a hood, I almost cried. I think Jenni and I will be going shopping one day, so maybe you want to come with us if you live around here. :)

The AP is great. I wish mnore people knew about them. I started volunteering there last Christmas baking cookies and wrapping gifts. I adopted a basket again this year (single man) and am going to try and double last year's cookie total (which was 57 dozen.)

(I found your post via the friend's list of a mutual friend, cbltbl.)

I wish more people knew about them too, I am trying to slowly educate people about them.

I love the basket adoption, giving money is good and all but being able to shop for someone makes it so much more personal. Plus I love wrapping gifts. :)
