My migraines are better and worse. Basically, I have them less often with less aura but when I do have them they are more painful. So, I have an appointment with a new doctor in July. I am not looking forward to taking the time off of work to deal with this.

My period has been totally wonky the last month. It is either a month late or I have had it for a month (No, I am not pregnant, I checked when I was at the doctor last week for other things). I *think* I might actually be getting it for real this time considering the cramps I had last Monday. They were so bad that I would have been concerned if I didn't know that my IUD didn't give me bad cramps. I'll be happy when it settles a little bit more and stops that. I also took aleve instead of advil that morning because I thought it would be better even though advil always works better for pain for me. I took two advil and the pain became manageable.

Between these cramps and my headaches I have been having a lot of pain lately. I just wish it would get better. I am trying to work out because it keeps my body from getting knots from the migraines but it is hard to get myself to go to the gym when I am in pain.

[livejournal.com profile] gwangi is a biologist. He never lets me get by with saying "this seems to work better", he makes me prove it with a study or with tracking it with a headache diary. So I have learned how to find these articles and how to read them.

I wish I could find a study that would cover the side effect at 200mg compared to 100mg. Also, does weight have a an effect on the dosage? I am 170 pounds, does that mean 100mg is good or should I go to the higher dosage? This is why I need a doctor, I suppose.
