I tried to make puff pastry for the first time tonight. I am pretty sure it is going to be a failure.

SIGH.

I know, I know. It is a hard thing to make but it shouldn't have been *that* hard to make.

I suppose since lard has fallen out of favour, butter is more common in recipes. But we were taught in school to use half the amount of lard as plain flour, very cold water to mix and fold until your arms drop off!
