[Poll #1267576]

I renewed my paid status last night so I must make a poll.

PS: I haven't read either of these myself but I am trying to decide which one to read.

I haven't read the first one, but I've read a lot of Jules Verne's books. I kinda want to learn French and read them again, because they're either badly written or, I suspect, badly translated. Translations usually are pretty horrible though.

I will say though that if you do read Around the World in Eighty Days, you should also read this book by Philip José Farmer.

And watch this show which I'd like to see come out on DVD. I hate the term "steampunk" but I like the style.

I haven't read either of them. I was going to suggest The Time Machine, but that was H.G. Wells, right? I suggest it anyway.

And I like "Horton Hears a Who" or "Fox in Sox". ;)

Honestly, don't bother with From the Earth to the Moon. They don't even get launched until the end of the book, and in the sequel they never leave the vessel. Around the World in Eighty Days is--aside from some condescending colonial stuff--a lot of fun and kind of hilarious.
