Ungirly

Sometimes I think the most ungirly thing about me is that I don't really don't like crafts. I just learn enough about a craft to know how it is done and then I move on to something else.

I think my most ungirly traits include not wearing jewelry (like earings or rings) and not keeping my nails nice (I like to keep them very short).

What kinds of crafts have you learned?

I can't stand jewelry. I play with it when I wear it.

Lots of things. My mom likes crafts so I have helped her with lots of them. However, if I was going to get a hobby, I would do something like remodel a house instead of making a knickknack.

I don't like crafts.
And I don't wear high heels or makeup.

I like men though, that's girly enough?

I think girly is whatever you want it to be. Just sometimes I realize that there are topics of conversation that I just don't get.

Back in college a buddy of mine brought his new girlfriend around. Her Dad had serious money and she was wearing a designer jacket with gold braids and beads on it. I thought I was being cute and said, "ease up on the bedazzler" or something like that.
She because furious and stormed off dragging Mark along with her.. never saw her again.

So, me either.

I don't get those either.

Not liking crafts doesn't make you un-girly, it makes you not un-interesting. ;-)

LOL. Good point.

Just sometimes I find myself in a situation where everyone talks about how they should do something handmade and I just wonder why. I mean, I can buy an item that is a lot like that for cheaper than the parts and wouldn't have to invest time in it.

Actually, maybe it is un-girly to point out that fact.

Unpolite, but not ungirly..

It isn't 1876 anymore. A woman isn't graded entirely on her ability to keep a home and make socks.

I know. I think as much as my parents raised me to be independant and confident in my ability to do things as well as anyone else, I still have this idea of womanhood as my mother, who I am different from in many ways.
