Food

Tonight, after eating too much at the potluck and all afternoon, I stopped at my parents house to discover that my mom had made spaghetti. Spaghetti is one of the only meals I'll eat until I can't eat anymore. I actually ate two servings of it tonight and thought about getting more. While I was doing this I was talking to Jens about my inability to restrain myself from eating spaghetti and he mentioned that he was the same way with Shepard's pie.

So, what is the meal or food that you just can't restrain yourself from eating, even if you are already full (Or in my case, break out in hives about half an hour later since I am allergic to tomatoes)?

spaghetti. but i have a weird way of eating it. i like to take a piece of whole grain bread, spread butter on it, put spaghetti on top of that with some baked beans, then i fold it up and eat it like a sandwich.

pretty much any pasta i totally gorge on.

It is the baked beans that gets me.

One day I will have to make you shortbread. I worked in a bakery while in high school and the one thing I retained was the ability to make excellent shortbread.

I don't really like feeling full, part of me really regrets eating so much tonight but it was so good.

Most foods. In fact, anything I like. This is why I'm so fat!

Hmm, maybe a bit. But if I didn't eat like a hog I could be slimmer!

You and me both. Sometimes I wish I liked food a little less so I could be 20 pounds less.

Turkey, home canned saurkraut and homemade dumplings covered in turkey gravy. I'm not sure why my mom even bothers to ask what I want to eat when I come over because she knows what it's going to be. That will be my "last meal" if ever I'm in that situation.

If it were a single dish I'd have my mom's warm potato salad. Ofcourse this one is only good if my youngest sister isn't coming to dinner. She doesn't like onions so we all have to do without onions in the potato salad when Angie comes over.

I hate when that happens. My mom makes saurkraut with brown sugar (not too much, just a little) but she won't make it when my sister is eating because she doesn't like it. SIGH.

Anything with Ranch Dressing Mix. Not to be confused with Ranch Dressing. I put it over pasta, and add tomatoes and cheddar cheese. I routinely overeat this whenever I make, which is frequently . . .

I also put it over popcorn. In fact, I think I'll go do that now . . .

Someone told me about your Ranch Dressing Mix habit. I have never tried it, maybe I should try it on popcorn. hmm...

It might lead to a life crippling addiction. I would advise against it.

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] seattleforge on this one. Specifically I tend to gorge on pizza (I could easily eat a whole one if no one else were around) and breadsticks and Chinese food. (Thankfully I feel it's a social faux pas to go to buffets alone.)

Chinese Buffet is so good. I don't gorge at them however.

I do tend to gorge at old country buffet for some reason. Part of why I don't go there often.

I'm not a big eater, but I tend to gorge on pineapple. Which, you know. Whatever!

I can't restrain myself from fettuccine alfredo, vegetarian lasagne, and chocolate. Mmmm!

Oh yes! And chinese buffets. I will eat myself silly on lo mein or sushi and sesame chicken. And I don't eat meat usually, so the sesame chicken always gives me a huge gut ache. But, how can you say no? It's sesame chicken!
