my dad

Today is my dad's birthday. To celebrate his birthday he:

• went to work at 5:00 am
  
• tripped while inspecting a road they were laying asphalt
  
• landed with his hands in the asphalt
  
• went to urgent care
  
• was told they were second degree burns
  
• had them wrap up his hands
  
• pulled gloves over the wraps
  
• went back to work
  
• got home at 9:30pm
  
• ate his favorite meal
  
• promptly went to bed because he has to leave at 5:00 am tomorrow again
  

So, if you ever wonder where I get my work ethic, you know. Also, sometimes I forget just how tough my dad is. One of our big jokes is that if we were vikings dad would have been one of the best warriors. Well, that isn't just based on looks.

He is going to go into work late on Friday so a burn specialist can take a look at it to make sure his hands are healing well. They can't heal wrong or he won't be able to play golf!

He fell in to asphalt got second degree hand burns and went BACK TO WORK!? Zooks he's one tough guy! I bet he can catch bullets in his teeth and stick his arms in molten lead to save kittens. (Don't ask me how the kittens got there in the first place)

Of course he went back to work! He didn't want to lose overtime!

My mom was upset with him because he didn't even call her, the way she found out was when she called to see when he would get home he mentioned that he his hands were bandaged.

He is, I am going with him to the doctor tomorrow and will grill them about his hands.

i know! it is very funny, we made fun of him.

today i went to the burn unit with him and it turns out that he was really lucky and took good care of it. so no golf for a week or two and then he will be ok.
