So, morning sickness? Mostly gone. Yay!

Heartburn? Okay if I avoid some foods and take medication if it gets bad.

Hopefully this means I will stop losing weight (I am down 18 pounds!) and will start gaining again.

However, I still can't eat much in one sitting. If I don't eat every couple of hours I get that weird jittery feeling that happens when you haven't eaten in a while. So I need more snacking stuff. I still have a food aversion to meat or anything really fatty. However, tuna is okay. Any suggestions? Brussel sprouts aren't going to give me enough calories. Ha!

Also, I was thinking about making smoothies. I am not usually one to drink/eat them but it might be a good way to get some healthy calories into me while I drive to work. Any one ever do this before? Just an FYI, orange juice is out. The other option is to talk Amy into going to Jamba Juice one day.

Smoothies have helped me some with my lack-of-appetite issues. What smoothie-friendly foods are on your to-eat list right now?

Don't make Amy go to Jamba Juice every day! You'll have a happy baby and she'll get a giant ass!

P.S. Sorry Amy - this is not a comment on you. Merely on the massive amount of sugar in JJ.

I most put that in there because Amy loves Jamba Juice. I don't think I have been there in 10 years.

lol, I do love JJ but only about once every three years.

Though I do need to visit my dentist's office that's near the JJ in Edina...

i love making smoothies! i keep frozen fruit and yogurt in my fridge, and always add flax seed, protein powder (essential), a little milk, and a few ice cubes. the combos w/ fruit and yogurt are endless. adding peanut butter and nutella is good too. ive tried veggie smoothies, but yeah...not a huge fan.

Hooray smoothies! I kind of stunk at making them until I figured out the right order to add the ingredients. Here's the pattern I use:

1. 1 single serving (6 oz) cup of vanilla yogurt (I use the Target archer farms kind)
2. 1 to 1.5 cups total of frozen fruit in any combo
3. .5 cup (4oz) of juice (I use orange juice, but have apple juice that works rad w/ strawberries)

Pulse blend this to chop up the frozen fruit. The mix will be way too thick to fully blend sooooo

4. Add in a whole fresh banana

This ingredient order was outlined by Mark Bittman in a cookbook and it's always made really excellent smoothies. The banana helps. Happy smoothie-ing!

If you like tuna, putting a can in some mac and cheese would get you a decent amount of protein and carbs.

I've been using Visalus for the past year, and the shakes are super yummy, plus it's a great protein boost. I'd make them with yogourt, V8 fusion (so vegetable/fruit drink) and frozen fruit (or fresh if I had it). Alternatively milk if no juice, but you can really pack a lot into a good shake.

I ate a lot of sandwiches, PB, lots of cheese. See if you can do vegetables and dip - you do need to get a decent fat content in your diet right about now (but not to overdo it).
