Hey,
Christmas day is the day before our wedding which means we will have a ton of people to feed and hangout with. Both our place and my parent's place isn't big enough so we have decided to have Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I need suggestion for a place that can hold 30 or so people that is good and isn't in the hi-lake shopping center. It can either be a buffet or sit down place.

Any suggestions?

My family's all about the traditional Jewish Christmas, and we've always gone to either Shuang Cheng or Little Szechuan. When we've needed to eat at a specific time, we've always gone with Little Szechuan, because they'll take reservations and the timing is just in general more predictable. With a new banquet room, Shuang Cheng might be more willing to take a reservation, but they're going to be able to fill that space without a large group, and with turn over might make more money by doing so, so they might not be willing to accomodate you on Christmas Day.

If you and Zach have a Chinese restaurant you particularly like, I'd suggest calling them up and seeing if they'd be willing to do a customized buffet for you on Christmas Day. With 30 people, you actually might have the leverage to do that, even if they're not planning to be open on Christmas Day otherwise. My brother and sister-in-law did something similar at an Indian restaurant for their 'groom's dinner'.

Another, non-Chinese food option: I know that Common Roots is also open Christmas Day, and has a back room that's reservable.
