Yard Sale

I have been thinking about having a Yard Sale at my parent back yard in August. While thinking about this I realized that many of my friends don't have yards of their own and might want to be a part of it.

So, would you want to be part of it?

[Poll #1751870]

The way it would is that you would price your stuff and label it with your initials. At the sale we would sell it and keep track of how much each person sells. If you are there you can negotiate, if not, we won't. We might want to do a standard price for books.

this sort of thing keeps coming up with other people i know, but they are all out in the 'burbs. i have a couple large-ish furniture pieces i could sell and this will (hopefully) be right around moving time for me...

I have a big pile of stuff I want to get rid of and I think it would be fun to have a garage sale. My parents and siblings have stuff also.

Even if it isn't moving time and you don't have furniture pieces you could start paring down your stuff in preparation. :D

I'm on call for work from 12-5 on Saturdays. I'm often free much sooner, but I never know until and hour or so before the fact, so I can't plan anything during those hours. If it wasn't an issue to not be at the sale the whole time, I could drop my stuff off and come back when I was off work.

You wouldn't have to be there the whole time. I was thinking that we would have it 8-5 and any time you would want to be there would be fine!

I'll be at a Radical Faeries outing the first two Saturdays of August. Outside of that, count me in!

Just an FYI...The serious garage sale goers go on Thursday and Friday. Saturdays are mostly bargain buyers who are only half hearted about it and very few come on Sundays to the point where Sunday just isn't worth being open. When I did my garage sale a couple weeks back I made 80% of my money on Thursday.

I don't plan on being open on Sunday. I can't take days off work for a yard sale so I will just have to live with a one day garage sale.

Personally I don't get this whole culture of people that can do things during "office hours". I know it exists but I have never been part of it. Garage sales, Happy Hours and quilt shows are all things I miss because I have a job.

my sister has gone over an "early lunch" on thursdays/fridays, or just been a bit late to get in. but she was on a maniacal kids-clothes buying kick, too. hannie probably has enough clothes to last her another 3 years, at least.

Pending the outcome of tomorrow's activities (prior to the frantic other things needed for Saturday's departure), that will definitely be an interest to me. I can not only bring things, but be there as well.

I'll have to go through said things to see what I have to bring!
