Topamax

I have been on Topamax for about a year. In that year I have gone from about 15 migraines a month to 4 or 5 (and those are much less painful)*. For a long time I couldn't drink anything with carbonation but a couple months ago that stopped being true. I just got used to the taste of it now. However, the side effect that hasn't gone away is the lack of appetite.

In the last year I have lost about a pound a month. I am never hungry, which is the weirdest feeling. I always know when I forget to take my pills two doses in a row (it has happened a couple times) because I am actually hungry. I am pretty good at eating because I like going out to lunch with my coworkers but if no one comes over and says "want to go to lunch?" I will just skip it without noticing. I eat dinner because Zach is around, however, if he isn't home I'll just skip it or eat something small. I am good once I start eating but I just don't think about eating any more. It is so weird.

This has made me stop baking. I sort of miss baking. :(

*I am also avoiding caffiene, which I am sure is also cutting down on headaches. However, I drink iced tea and decaf coffee so I am not completely cutting it out. I think it is more the topamax

You could put a pile of candy in front of me and I wouldn't even snack. It is so weird.

That is a completely foreign concept to me. I would eat YOU if you sat still long enough in front of me.

BTW, this seems a little insane to me. It is a scary drug.
