I decided to take a quilting class this fall. I actually decided to do it last spring when I thought that
gwangi would be in the army so I would have something to fill my time up with and decided it would still be a good idea to do.
I went to the Quilt shop by my house and signed up for the Beginning Rotary Star Sampler class. It is the prefect level class for me. We are learning how to cut fabric with a rotary cutter and how to sew complicated blocks. There is a good amount of homework every week so I feel like I am learning on my own with someone that is guiding me.
My first blocks. I only needed four but I made six because I figured I needed the practice. They were fun to make. I am not sure I like the green fabric but we'll see when the quilt is finished.

The insides to a block! I made this really quick and it worked out! I was so excited! I wonder if I should have cut the inner block on the bias so it would have been lined up better but we didn't learn how to do that. Not that it would have been hard to do.

My first big block. I have a couple seams that are off but that is okay, no one is going to notice when it is done. I really like how it turned out. I like the colors a lot.

I have another quilt block that should be done tonight and I have a third cut out and ready to sew at our next class. I really like this.
