Dad Update

Dad is losing his hair. He is making jokes about how he is now going to be bald. Still, since he can't shave because of the radiation and he can grow a very thick beard, he is losing a lot of beard hair.

He is skinnier than I have ever seen him. His weight yesterday was 206, which I believe is less than he weight when he got married. We make fun of him and tell him that he is starting to look like mom. It doesn't help that he sometimes wears the shorts he had before he started to lose weight. He is using a feeding tube for most of his nutrition but he is supposed to eat orally a few times a day. However he finds that nothing tastes the same anymore other than mashed potatoes from KFC.

My mom's birthday party is on the 18th and I am not sure how long my dad is going to make it for the party. He has chemo a couple days before and that was pretty tough on him. Still, my dad loves seeing everyone so I think he is going to try and stay as long as he can. If he can't I am pretty sure his siblings will go over to my parents house and hang out with him for a bit. He will like that.

because they are aiming it towards his face and any nicks in his face can cause the radiation to get into his body easier and cause more problems. He is just trimming it now.
