Snow

It has been snowing here a lot. I like snow but part of me is sad that we will never get as much snow as I remember us getting when I was a kid since I have gained some height since then.

Also, I sort of wish I lived some part of the country where you could get snowed in. Alas, I live in the inner city of a larger midwest city and work in a first ring suburb. I am pretty sure we would have to get 3 or 4 feet of snow before I couldn't make it to work.

I work from home so there is NEVER an excuse for me to not be able to get to work due to snow. It sucks. And even those that do work in the office are expected to have their laptops at home to work when snow is expected. Our boss doesn't believe in snow days. Unfortunately.

If there was a snow day I would work from home but it would be nice to have a day of not having to dig my car out and drive to work. However, it would be have to be bad before that was even an option. Stupid city of Minneapolis being so good at snow removal.

My former boss let us out early due to snow. It ruled. New boss does not seemed so inclined.

I am hourly so I would have to make up the hours so I wouldn't leave early anyways.

I'm hourly too, but we can't really make up hours. I usually just take PTO hours when I get unexpected time off.

Come on down to KY. We get snow every winter and we get snowed in nearly every time. Well. Not in our cities, but out here in the sticks where I live? Yeah.

Yeah, I think if I live out of the city it would be a different story. I mean, there has to be 6 inches from the time I got home last night to leaving this morning and the streets were already plowed before I left for work.
