I really want to learn how to quilt. However, every time I think about starting a hobby like that I think "I should be working on my condo" and then don't even start it.
I love quilting. I have not made one in years. I keep meaning to get back into it. But it's one of those things I am just to busy socializing to get around to. Like painting and screen writing. And finding a husband. =P
I've been waiting to learn how to quilt for awhile now, and am starting to wonder if it will be one of mine unfulfilled dreams. Mostly, because I don't really enjoy sewing. And I'm not very good at it. Last year, at the retreat, we made quilts, as there were a couple of women that were avid quilters. Which is where I learned that it also involves a lot of straight cutting, yet another thing I'm rather challenged at!
One of the cool things about quilting is that it makes an excellent group activity. There are usually groups that meet. Heck, there is a tea house near us that organizes stitching sessions for different groups on the hour.
One night a week wouldn't destroy your condo dreams.
