Seasonal Allergies

Right now my allergies are really annoying. My eyes itch, I keep sneezing, my sinuses hurt and I am pretty sure I am getting migraines because of them. However, if I take an antihistamine I'll get hives on my hands and feet. I am not sure which is the lesser of the two evils here so it seemed like a good time for a poll.

I don't know, because I haven't ever gotten hives. I sure as hell don't like seasonal allergies much, though.

I put seasonal allergies, but I guess it's hard to say. Sometimes I feel like I have to decide between a) having a runny nose all day and b) falling asleep at my desk because of the antihistamines. :-/

I suppose maybe if the hives were just on your hands and feet maybe it would be OK, but knowing how damned uncomfortable hives are I would personally rather have the allergy symptoms.

Itches feel good to scratch. That's why Jesus or the Devil or whoever made them. Seasonal Allergies don't feel good to indulge in. And migranes can take a hike. Forget that mess.

At least with the hives your head wont be splitting open while you to try to get that web site out the door. And you can get creme for hives.

Antihistamines give you hives? WTF?

I don't have any advice for regular humans, though. I have the runny/stuffy nose year round, so the hives would be more annoying for me. If you have semi-decent insurance, you should go see an ENT. If they're causing you headaches, they should be able to get you something that will not cause you to break out in hives.

I have been to an ENT but every antihistamines gives me a drug rash. Even the stuff in NyQuil (I miss Nyquil the most). I can treat the migraines, I have pills for them, I just hate getting them.

That's so crazy. I thought antihistamines were supposed to prevent that, not cause it. I don't know how I would get through the day without my Benedryl.

Oh, antihistamines works great on my allergies. It is just one of the possible side effects. If I take a Benedryl I will have hives in about 20 minutes. :(
