This weekend

Yesterday I went to an all day Christmakwanzaka party:
1. My dad came for the morning and made popovers.
2. We made lots of spritz cookies.
3. It took me forever to drive my dad home and back. The roads sucked.
4. I missed seeing Gremlins driving my dad home. :(
5. I saw Bad Santa for the second time (The first time I watched it on this date and I blame watching that movie with him for having never heard from him again.) It still wasn't a great movie.
6. I want a hot tub and/or sauna.
7. I got a headache at the end of the night but I thought it was from being in the sauna too long. I became annoyed at people and then was falling asleep. Drove home and tried to sleep but at about 3:30 am I realized that the headache was a migraine, took my imitrex and everything was better again.

I had an awesome day with my great friends. Yay!


On a side note, I learned today that my sister in law has never seen The Big Lebowski and my brother doesn't like it. The funniest thing I have heard in a while was Jens detailing everything he hated about the movie like the violence ("Someone loses a toe!") and the oddness of the plot ("The dude was lying on the floor listening to a tape of a perfect game. Where do you find that?!"). He seemed to know the movie well for someone that hated it.

The genius of the Big Lebowski is that it's pure Noir, and yet it doesn't seem like it should be. Jens, come on! It's a great movie! And I love that movie and didn't realize the Dude was listening to 'The Perfect Game'. Hm, me thinks he doth protest too much.

TBL is my favorite movie. Jake & I saw it in the theater by chance all those years ago, and fell in love with it immediately. Good times...
