Me and my early christmas present, originally uploaded by bertine.

I finally carried my early Christmas present from my parents up to my condo. Now I can make even more awesome baked goods. I am so happy I didn't have to wait to get married to get one since that seems to be the tradition. Ha!

Christ, those things are heavy aren't they? I use Matthew's when I need a mixer (my hand mixer has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge) and every time I have to get the damn thing down from the top of the kitchen cabinets, I think I'm going to get a hernia.

I think it is the same one, except mine is an AWESOME RED.

Yeah, it is really heavy which is why I hadn't brought it up before. So many steps. I am glad I have a space for it so it can live on the counter. I am going to leave it on that big cabinet that the coffee and drinks were on during my brunch because it should be admired. Ha!

Why in the world do you have it on the top of the kitchen cabinets? Are you trying to off yourself?

hey, I have that same one! I love it :) I got it a few years back after I burnt out the motor (yes, really) on my first KitchenAid.

My mom burnt out a motor on one once, i know it happens.

I have an old 1950s kitchen aid that still works, I am just scared I am going to kill it. :(

Looks like the same model as mine. Lovely machine.

Just keep in mind that the paddle attachment doesn't quite get everything from the bottom of the workbowl, so a little spatula scraping won't hurt.

My mom has one too plus my last mixer had the same problem (a 1950s kitchen aid mixer).

It is so awesome

Mine wasn't a wedding gift either.

I inherited my uncle's Kitchenaid a year or two ago. It's not all sassy and red, but I still love it. (plus- FREE!) I will be using mine tonight to make grasshopper pie.

Yay! I am debating making cookies but I think I will wait until after this rollout. I would rather watch southpark.

Oooooh fancy - those are verrrry nice.

There was an episode of "How It's Made" on the discovery channel that showed KitchenAid mixers being produced. Twas quite interesting.

I have an old one that I love but it isn't as powerful and you can't make as much. My mom really wanted to get me something I would like a lot.

i can't believe that my sister got one over three years ago and it's still all packed up. i would find room in my tiny apartment for a kitchenaid mixer! then i would find room for cookie-making.

PACKED UP? Some people... To me, having that mixer is the sign that you're there.

Someday I'll have one. Oh yes, it will be mine.

There's always room for cookie making.
