Every September I want to go back to school. I don't know what classes I would take but I miss school and it doesn't help when people on my friends list talk about all the fun classes they are taking!
i work in admissions at a nursing home (well - i see everyone that comes into our short-stay rehab unit for physical therapy). my degree is is in public relations & i don't use anything i learned in school in my job. the job is incredibly tedious (lots of paperwork - it's mind-numbing), and i'm getting really tired of it. i talked with my boss yesterday (he's turning out to be pretty awesome), and he's super supportive of me doing new things while promising me the security of my current job. it's insane, but i really do trust him.
i was thinking about going back to school to be a licensed counselor/therapist - maybe couples/marital counseling. rick (my boss) suggested i look into human resources. i'm also just considering an mba so i could do hr & then maybe own my own business one day (a quirky boutique to sell stuff i think is cool - think "the afternoon", a gift shop at mall of america & ridgedale meets bongocrafts.)
i just don't know. school is expensive, we're thinking about another kid... i'm just pretty sure i don't want to do what i'm doing for much longer AND i don't think i want to use my degree directly - just use it as a foundation for something new.
