ok, how do you find a wii? i just got a cash bonus for this rollout and before i blow it on bills and my roth i want to get something fun.

i know the few times i have sort of looked it has been sold out and yesterday i stumbled across one at target but didn't get it because i didn't realize i would have money to burn today.

is there is a tactic to get them or is it just luck?

They're nigh-impossible to find even still. I'd say just keep calling retailers if you really want one.

Me, I sat out overnight for one, back when they had the second production launch (late November, I believe). I lucked out - 55-60 degree temperatures and clear skies; wasn't cold until 7am.

dammit. i just want to order one and have it sent to me when they get in stock. this whole randomly coming across one 5 or 6 months after they released it sucks.

Demand's way, way outstripped what they expected, I think. Nintendo actually just converted several DS factories to producing Wiis instead.

You can order one from Gamestop, but it's a complete ripoff: you're forced to buy a bunch of games (most of which aren't that good) and accessories in order to get it, and it's not a savings at ALL.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open; I rock the gaming blogs on the regular. Toys'R'Us, in particular, seems to get Wiis every couple weeks on Sundays.

it just pisses me off because i saw one yesterday but i was buying stuff for work and didn't have the time to buy it then (plus, i didn't know i was getting money today).

that would be awesome. i can't believe i am getting so worked up over a game system. HA.

You should get a DS Lite, too! I probably spend more time with my DS than with all of our gaming consoles put together (and that's saying something).

i don't think i would get into it that much. i am not much of a solo game player, i want something that i can play with my siblings and be dorks with. if i was alone and had free time i would read a book over playing on the DS.
