I am officially ready for spring. Today I looked at different CSAs because I am so close to joining one this year. I also looked at various vegetable I could grow on my ledges but since that didn't work that well last year, I might just go with the cheap tomato plants from Menards again. I like my condo a lot but I really want a big garden one day.

I also got the Ironman Bike Ride sign up sheet today. I am trying to decide if I want to do it this year. Of course that lead me to look at various classes I could take on bike repair. And to think I was thinking about selling it last summer. Ha!

My beans started out as a craft project for the childrens department. The kids planted beans after hearing the story of jack and the bean stalk. Someone left their plastic cup of dirt and bean behind, so took it I watered it for a few days, nothing happened, then still nothing happened, then I could see through the clear plastic cup a little bit of root. Then I was off for three days, and I came back in my office and there was a 6" plant sitting in the cup! I couldn't beleive it. for that first week or two I swear you could measure it's growth each day. I had to transplant it, and the other two that grew in to bigger pots and had to put stakes in the pots with strings to hold them up and the entire half of my U shaped desk was covered with 3 foot high plants. I ended up with a harvest of about 1/3 cup of beans. Too bad I don't really like lima beans. In the unbeliviable mess that is my office I still have 3 of the beans that I harvested.
