This summer I have spent a lot of money and camping supplies. I have bought new hiking boots, hiking pants, a rain jacket, a backpack and a water filter. Yesterday Zach and I went to Itasca State Park (aka, the headwaters of the Mississippi) and camped at a backpack site. It is amazing how much nicer it is to hike when you have the right stuff. The boots are wonderful and I can't even tell you how much nicer it is to hike with a pack that actually fits you.
Whenever Zach makes a post I'll link you to it, we had a lot of fun and unlike our hike in the mountains I didn't worry that it would start snowing and make the hike back terrible. Also, it wasn't at 10,000 feet which made me pretty happy.
So, where did the summer go? I know I did a ton of stuff but it feels like it just started!
