http://www.themorningnews.org/archives/editorial/wedding_guide_part_ii_ten_ways_to_mess_up_your_marriage_proposal.phpI'll comment on each one here:
1 & 2) I agree with both of these tips. I think a year at least is good. I don't like the idea that the man has to propose though but that is me.
3 & 4) Rings, I don't believe in engagement rings, the whole idea of being bought is stupid (i know, it is a gift but there is that undertone) and if the woman is proposing to the man, what then? Basically, I think one of the questions to ask is "Does she even want a ring?"
5) WHAT?! Yes, I would want to tell my parents but they really don't have any say in the matter and asking my dad's permission would piss me off and not be touching.
6 - 10) OK, i got sick of this article. This is full of romantic stuff. Going down on one knee? A year to plan a wedding? Having an eleborate proposal? BAH! Oh, the wedding date one was pretty good, you should be able to talk about that right away.
I guess I am not a romantic and I guess I don't really believe in marriage. If I ever do get married it isn't going to be with all this stuff and why would I wait for the guy to propose?
