Yeah hopefully we'll take the train all the way from Moscow it takes about a week. If I had my way though we'd start on a train in Lisbon and go from there by train.

You're thinking about doing this! That would be keen! I took the Trans-SIberian railroad to Krasnoyarsk twice. It seems like you could knock together your own trip for cheap, especially since Russians don't believe in advanced ticket sales, but I don't know how getting into Mongolia would go then. I want to go to Mongolia! So, this sounds awesome. But I would say: six days on a train is six days on a train. People start smelling interesting after a few days on a train. Bring wet-naps and slippers or some kind of slip-onnable shoe so that when the train stops you can run right out and buy pirozhki from the babushki. Also bring plenty of food, including shareables.
