my condo

i made a diagram of my condo for [livejournal.com profile] murun and anyone else that cares:

the gray area was my first condo, the rest is the second one. the office used to be a kitchen, the bedroom on the "new" side used to be a living room and half of the living room was the bedroom of the second condo.

UPDATE: i forgot to say this, but there is a half wall between the office and my bedroom.

It's lovely. As lovely as your place.

But I think of it upside down.

Now I am going to map out my place.

i would love to say it was always my plan but it still weirds me out that there isn't a wall there anymore.

the door on "my" side (with the office) never gets used. i have a chair in front of it.

i started doing it the other way then i realized that i thought of it this way. funny. :)

DO IT! your place is so cute, i am envious of your balcony.

I would probably do much the same thing. Or put a piece of furniture in front of it, maybe, like a bookcase.

i didn't want to hide the door too much, it is a nice door to look at plus i could get out of it if i had to.

i have a huge bookcase next too it and on two walls in the living room.

you should color code the rooms to the color you painted them!

Oh man, this is too cool.

Now I am planning what I want to do to maximize the little amount of space in my bedroom. My roommate is moving out as of... um, end of April or so, and around June he'll be off the lease so he'll take his bed too, and I'll be in a room all by myself about the size of a studio apartment.

Maybe I should find some kind of guide to making the most of small spaces.

doyou have ikeas around there? cause when i had just the first condo it was tiny and usually under construction. ikea was my friend for small spaces.

We don't have an Ikea near here, nor do I have a budget that would let me shop at Ikea. Sadly. I may have to make do with stuff I make myself, if it comes down to it!

Ikea is so the opposite of super cheap. Hello, $90 chair! Hello, $190 boring flat table!

I do quite a lot of my shopping at thrift stores! Not enough that they recognize me.

Yet.
