[livejournal.com profile] melissa_maples just posted a bunch more photos of the wedding on Flickr.

Today is the day!!!

It is amazing that it is finally here. Zach's family is almost all in town. My family is helping out a ton. I am laying in bed thinking about how much fun today is going to be.

It is going to be pretty awesome to be married to Zach.

Anxious

Dec. 23rd, 2011 11:57 pm

I am really anxious right now. I don't like it.

Posted via LiveJournal app for iPhone.

So there was a quilting bee on Sunday for Zach and I. [livejournal.com profile] marioche69 took a bunch of pictures.

Here is what the finished quilt top looks like:

Seriously, it was so much fun!
18 days!!! )

So close!

The first wedding present came yesterday. THIS IS HAPPENING.
Hey,
Christmas day is the day before our wedding which means we will have a ton of people to feed and hangout with. Both our place and my parent's place isn't big enough so we have decided to have Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I need suggestion for a place that can hold 30 or so people that is good and isn't in the hi-lake shopping center. It can either be a buffet or sit down place.

Any suggestions?

Wedding

This morning [livejournal.com profile] gwangi was playing me samples of our wedding playlist and it made me so excited for the wedding! It is a great playlist.

Left Over Stuff:
1. Get an officiant
2. Create Centerpieces
3. Order favors
4. Talk to people about wedding readings
5. Buy Wine
6. Book our Honeymoon.

I think Zach is booking the hotel for the honeymoon today. We are researching having my cousin do the wedding. I decided to do the centerpieces over Thanksgiving. Wine buying will happen soon.

Stuff for November:
1. Check if we need more Hotel Reservations (I just sent an email).
2. Send Thank you notes for the shower (I am hoping to get this done tonight)
3. Order Milk
4.Make Hair/Makeup appointments for the day of.
5. Call people who haven't responded to the invitation (Thanksgiving weekend).
6. Pick up marriage license
7. Pick up my dress and Zach's suits.
8. Order the cake.
9. go to "Hen Party"

We have 63 items to do and 54 days until the wedding but there is a lot of things that have to be done right before the wedding. I am feeling pretty good about this, though I need to work on the test centerpiece soon.
I decided to make a post in the [livejournal.com profile] weddingplans group about wedding details. If you want to know about it go here.

[livejournal.com profile] gwangi, there are pictures of the dress I'll be wearing but they aren't very good pictures.
I just want keep track of this stuff. Here is our to-do list and the progress. )

BTW, did you know you can start applying for your marriage license online in Minnesota?

Also, I am shocked by the number of moving parts to a wedding and I write websites for a living!

Ahhhh!!!

Dudes, we are 81 days away and we have 81 to-dos left to handle!*

Here is what is left-over from September
1. Create our Macy's registry.
2. Get an officiant (I know some of you have offered but this is Zach's thing)
3. Send out the invitations (At lunch today I am going to go buy the evelopes)
4. Get Zach a suit
5. Book our wedding night hotel room

This is what I would like to get done in October
1. Create Centerpieces
2. Order favors (I know I was anti-favor but I found something awesome!)
3. Order flowers
4. Talk to people about wedding readings
5. Get guest lists for Shower and "Hen Party"
6. Buy Wine
7. Talk to Amy about the last of the design stuff (Stickers for Favors, Table Numbers, Announcement**)
8. Book our Honeymoon.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] gwangi is there anything else we need to do? I think the cake waits until closer. Also, are we having a receiving line? I think I vote for walking about while people are eating. Oh! We need to order milk.

*Actually, it is now 77, I like that theknot has a nice task list but some of the stuff is repetitive.
**Did I mention I have a huge family so my parents want to send out announcements to the people that weren't invited.

Seriously, what do you register for when you are 34, don't like things that aren't useful and have already bought everything that is useful?

I shouldn't have bought a coffeemaker and then we would have three items in our registry but it is so much cheaper to make my own coffee!
We have 89 days to go and 85 things to do. Admittedly, some of the items are small (i.e. Practice walking in your wedding shoes) but we need to knock some stuff off before the end of the weekend.
First, I am doing much better today. I don't know what the deal was with yesterday but I am glad that is over.

On to the fun stuff!

[livejournal.com profile] marioche69 finished our invites! I just need to upload them and order them and I can send them out! She did such a good job with them and Zach did a great job on the copy.

Our todo list for September is getting done. I need to look at the progress because I pretty much feel behind all the time.

Here is what we have left to do:
1. Create some registries & add them to the website
2. Get an officiant
3. Buy & send out the invitations
4. Get Zach a suit
5. Buy the sticks for the centerpieces (Ikea has some nice cheap ones)
6. Buy our wedding bands (the change jar had $359 in it, yay!)
7. Finish the song list
8. Add the hotel info to the website
9. Book our wedding night hotel room

We are just about 3 months out and I am getting excited. I tried on my wedding dress over the weekend and showed it to my family (including Zach's sister who is in town right now). My dad really liked it. He is so cute at times. Also, it still fit even though I have gained 10 pounds going off of topomax. I am glad it was a little big when I bought it.

I think I am going to get this for people to put cards in at the wedding.

The best part of it is that after the wedding I can use it for cookies at home!

Oh! "The Doctor Who Talking TARDIS 11 inch Cookie Jar features light and sound effects that are activated by pushing down on the lamp or closing the lid."

Update: It is funny how this wedding is shaking out. At first I was going to go prety traditional but then our personalities have taken over. We are going to have dinosaurs on the cake (with a top hat and a veil, of course), a milk toast and I am debating if I can stick a sonic screwdriver in my bouquet.

The closer we get to the wedding, the more excited I am about it!

Shoes

Aug. 24th, 2011 10:27 am
Oh! Yesterday my shoes were delivered. They are awesome and make me pretty tall. I think I am going to try on my dress with the shoes tonight to make sure they aren't too high.

EEE!!!

Save the Date!, originally uploaded by bertine.

So, we have our save the date cards addressed and ready to mail. Our wedding website is mostly ready to go. Since we have almost all the addresses already the invitations will go much faster.

I am pretty excited about this.

BTW, you should know that I would invited every person on my friends list if I could but weddings are expensive. Please don't see it as a slight if you don't get an invitation.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] marioche69 designed the invitations and I think she did a great job.

This is a reminder to myself of what needs to be done in August:
1. Upload addresses into theknot
2. Get the Wedding Website up
3. Mail out Save the Dates (THIS WEEK and the website needs to be presentable first!)
4. Book a block of rooms for out of town people
5. Plane ticket (just drop again!!!)
6. Get on my sister about picking a dress
7. Talk to the Baker
8. Start the registry
9. Think about flowers
10. Think about what Zach is going to wear.
11. Find an officiant.
12. Talk to Amy about the invitation.

I guess we have 139 days to go. AHHHHHH!!!

Wedding

Aug. 2nd, 2011 09:21 am
Last night I had a stress dream about the wedding. It wasn't what I needed today. I think it is a good time to go on vacation and not think about things.

I have been reading the community [livejournal.com profile] weddingplans the last couple weeks. I am not sure if this is helping my anxiety by reminding me that I am pretty low-key and put together or adding to it because I am hearing all the drama of other people's weddings.

Things to do this month:
1. Send out form to collect addresses
2. Get the Wedding Website up (maybe this would be good to work on while we are on vacation)
3. Mail out Save the Dates (We should get these in the mail today or tomorrow)
4. Book a block of rooms for out of town people
5. Plane ticket (just drop again!!!)
6. Get on my sister about picking a dress
7. Talk to the Baker
8. Start the registry (bah)
9. Think about flowers
10. Think about what Zach is going to wear.
11. Find an officiant.
12. Talk to Amy about the invitation.

Next month? Time to start making the centerpieces!
