The Good and The Bad
Aug. 27th, 2010 10:49 amThe Good:
Zach got a job. He will be doing some sort of lab job at the U. As my dad put it "cutting pieces of people up in a cube". Anyways, it is good because it is at the U so it is close enough for him to bike to work most of the year and when he can't he can take the bus/light rail. The U has good benefits and it doing something that he wants to do. Plus it is the first step to our master life plan. Woo!
The Bad
My dad started chemo and radiation on Wednesday. It is hard to see him like this. I know cancer fighting drugs are poison but you really don't get that until you see someone you love getting them. He is having a hard time sleeping and has no interest in eating at all. Zach is going to get him fast food (which my dad loves) for lunch and hang out with him this afternoon if he can't sleep. I am glad it is the weekend because it means he has a two day break from radiation. Though right now the chemo is much harder for him.
Other
Zach and I are trying to figure out what to do for Labor Day weekend. We need something cheap. I sort of want to go camping but Zach doesn't seem to want to. It is Zach's last weekend before he goes back to work and I hate "wasting" three day weekends. If I stay at home I'll just putter at home the whole time. So I need to have plans.
