Weight

Lately I have been stressed out, which has made me want to eat more. Eating more has made me gain weight which makes me stressed which makes me want to eat more. It is a bad cycle.

Actually the problem is that I have been so stressed at work lately that I have been going out to lunch and eating Culvers, which is the only fast food place that I eat at. Stupid butter burgers being so good. Between that and Jimmy John's delivering I haven't been eating my old lunch of soup or oatmeal which means I am putting on weight. SIGH.

Also I should work out but I am terrible at that. Anyways, between work and my condo I don't think I'll have a lot of time for that. Plus stress just makes me want to hide and then when I remember that working out is a good way to stop stress I usually get a headache.

Anyways, I have decided that I am going to the gym twice a week. Wednesday and once on the weekend. It isn't a lot but it is a start. I am also only going to lunch once a week and I am going to bring my lunch again. It should be easy to lose the 10 pounds that I have gained in the last year and I want to lose the 10 pounds that I was working on before I got side tracked. So 20 pounds it is. I hope.

Screw gaining weight. I mean don't, it's obviously important to you and if you, but if you take care of yourself losing weight will be an inevitable (and welcome) side-effect. And that's what it SHOULD be - a welcome side effect. It shouldn't be the goal.

What you SHOULD do is not let work do that to you. You're eating to de-stress which you say isn't working, so you need to find something else to do. Exercise is good for stress relief so going to the gym to help deal with stress is a good way to look at it.

I think you need to learn to tell work to STFU and stop making you do stuff that stresses you out. They CLEARLY need you there so you have leverage to get your way more often. Fight back and take care of yourself!

Yeah, it isn't about vanity weight, I don't care so much about how I look but when I gain weight it is almost always about stress eating and bad habits. So when I talk about gaining weight it is a sign that I am not deal with something. (just like you said in your response).

So does Midtown! Midtown has BodyPump and some Aqua classes which will give me lots of choices. That is why I picked Wednesday. Plus, if I miss Wednesday, Thursday at Midtown is Cycling to the movies, so I can make up then.

They didn't take it off the schedule, but cycling to the movies isn't happening again until the summer is over. The regular cycle classes are still in effect though as far as I know.

For as long as I've known you, work has been occasionally over-stressing the heck out of you. You really need to figure out a way to deal with them!
