Sleep

I was just sort of thinking about sleep while I was at the dentist office* today and wonder if you have any problems sleeping. I don't, I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere, I can sleep through a lot and I can get up, deal with something and then fall right back to sleep. I feel lucky about this.

there are only two reasons i might have trouble sleeping:
1. ellipses
2. ampersand

Mmmm, it depends on what you mean by "trouble"... I don't go to sleep very easily, and once I do sleep I wake at the slightest noise or change, and then once I've been woken up my chances of getting back to sleep are pretty much nil. E says that he feels sorry for me and that he would be miserable and seek professional help if it were him, but personally I love being this way, so I don't see it as trouble. I've never been a fan of sleep, it seems like a complete waste of time to me, so to be the kind of person who can wake up easily at any time and immediately be fully alert and ready to tackle anything... it totally works for me. I wouldn't want to be one of those people who sleeps like a rock for a third or more of every day and then drags it out with the snooze button for however much longer until they finally, reluctantly emerge half-dead and grumbling incoherently about coffee. I can't remember the last time I had to set an alarm for anything... even if I have to catch an early flight or something I know I'll just automatically wake up at the right time.

If I could be fully awake when I wake up I would like that. As it is I am "Zombie Bertine" for a good 45 mins after I wake up and it has nothing to do with the amount of sleep I have had. This is why I don't take naps.

I am actually pretty good at getting up for things and I don't really use an alarm. I tend to wake up when I need to but love my bed so much that I don't want to leave it.

I used to lay my head on the pillow and sleep soundly for the entire night. Now without medication I never fall asleep and/or wake 100 times a night. I miss it.

I've got a pretty horrible insomnia thing going right now.

I have been off of my Lunesta since 4th of July weekend thanks to my acupuncturist.

I can pretty much fall asleep anywhere. I think I got it from my dad. He can too, used to fall asleep standing up in the kitchen sometimes

Having worked nights for 7 years now, my sleep patterns are pretty messed up. I can fall asleep ok, but always wake too early and then that's it.

My theory is my body clock is on a 34 hour schedule. Sleep for 12 and be awake for 20. My doctor doesn't even want to entertain that idea.
I should be asleep now because I want to wake up in 6 hours.

Sleep sleep sleep sleep, I love sleeping. I can do it pretty much anywhere and once I'm out thats it, theres no waking me no matter what happens, especially if I've been drinking.

I occasionally go through periods of insomnia for no apparent reason, but as I've gotten older, they've become fewer and farther between. I do occasionally find myself jolted awake because I'm convinced that I'm about to die, which I suspect is from nightmares I don't remember.
