1. Are you named after anyone? My names are my grandmas middle names. Salma Bertine + Janet Margaret = Bertine Margaret.

2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? Not really, if i ever have a girl I would lean towards naming her after my Great-Aunt Evelyn but who knows if I will ever have them.

3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been? Jens Raynord, which happens to be my brother's name.

4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why? I wouldn't, I love my name. I always get it as a user name online.

5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/your name constantly? People say my name wrong a lot. Many people tend to type my name as "b", which i think might be to just not spell it wrong. My last name is the part that usually the name that is mispronuncited the most. Holmboe is not said Hombee.

Who pronounces it Hombee? My first guess would've been to pronounce it so it sounds kind of like 'home - bow'. (Bow like you shoot arrows from, not bow like take a bow.)

My last name is a source of consternation for people too, because apparently the idea of 'Ulrich' with the 'ch' sounding like a k and not a ch just BLOWS THEIR FRIGGING MINDS, MAN.

ALMOST EVERYONE SAYS IT HOMBEE. at least i know that someone doesn't know me if they say it that way. You are right on the way it is said.

i can see that being a problem, it is funny how people don't think about a name coming from somewhere other than an english speaking country and how that might make it different to pronounce.

I've always thought it was Holm-bow. Is the L pronounced or silent?

And do you get people call you Bertin? I get Justin a lot. Despite the obvious E on the end. AAARGGGHH.

i get bertina a lot. which is sort of annoying but i have stopped paying attention to it.

home-bow or holm-bow are both ok. i used to to tell people it was like stockholm until i realized people didn't say that right either. ha.

What's most troubling about it is that I live in the Greater Cincinnati area, an area where the names are very heavily influenced by two cultures, mainly German and Jewish. Since Ulrich is just a straight-up German name, and people run into German names all the time, you'd think they could pronounce it, but no!

The only person to ever get it right on the first try was my middle school vice-principal.

Weird...I was named after both of my grandfather's middle names too. Fred Charles + Ernest Wilburn = Charles Wilburn. Or atleast that was the way it was suppose to work. Turns out that "Charles" was my grandfather's Christian name and not his middle name. His middle name was actually Clark. No idea why my dad didn't know that when they were filling out the paperwork. I'm not sure that Clark Wilburn would have been any better though. For some reason nobody really gets my middle name right...they all want to drop the "n" and make it Wilbur. But it's pronounce just like it looks. As my grandfather used to say "You Wil-burn in Hell if you don't change your ways." That sorta scared me for life right from the beginning. >:p My last name, Betz, gets pronounced "Beets".

1. Oddly enough, I don't know

2. Yes. But I will only share middle names because the first names are way too cool and I don't want anyone to steal them. I like ----- Autum and ------ Winter. Yes, I am a hippie at heart.

3. I have no idea.

4. Julie or Julia. I have always hated my name.

5. They either call me "Annie" or spell it without an E on the end. My ex-Executive Director always spelled my name wrong. When we finally brought it to his attention he spelled me first name right and my last name wrong. A HOle!!!
