What's in a name?
Jul. 31st, 2006 09:27 am1. Are you named after anyone? My names are my grandmas middle names. Salma Bertine + Janet Margaret = Bertine Margaret.
2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? Not really, if i ever have a girl I would lean towards naming her after my Great-Aunt Evelyn but who knows if I will ever have them.
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been? Jens Raynord, which happens to be my brother's name.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why? I wouldn't, I love my name. I always get it as a user name online.
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/your name constantly? People say my name wrong a lot. Many people tend to type my name as "b", which i think might be to just not spell it wrong. My last name is the part that usually the name that is mispronuncited the most. Holmboe is not said Hombee.

Date: 2006-07-31 03:05 pm (UTC)My last name is a source of consternation for people too, because apparently the idea of 'Ulrich' with the 'ch' sounding like a k and not a ch just BLOWS THEIR FRIGGING MINDS, MAN.

Date: 2006-07-31 03:09 pm (UTC)i can see that being a problem, it is funny how people don't think about a name coming from somewhere other than an english speaking country and how that might make it different to pronounce.

Date: 2006-07-31 09:06 pm (UTC)2. Yes. But I will only share middle names because the first names are way too cool and I don't want anyone to steal them. I like ----- Autum and ------ Winter. Yes, I am a hippie at heart.
3. I have no idea.
4. Julie or Julia. I have always hated my name.
5. They either call me "Annie" or spell it without an E on the end. My ex-Executive Director always spelled my name wrong. When we finally brought it to his attention he spelled me first name right and my last name wrong. A HOle!!!
