Finger Cast

20% straighter and a new cast that isn't so big. Thursday is my last appointment for a week or two so I am getting a splint to wear while on vacation. The splint makes my finger rather sore so I am not looking forward to that. The upside is that I get to travel the america southwest with a stylish cast and finger splint.

actually it is my pinkie.

when i was a kid i broke my hand and somehow my hand didn't grow right. I can't straighten out my pinkie, which isn't a huge deal except the last year my hand would just ache at the end of the day. the last couple of weeks i have been going into physical therapy to breakup the scar tissue and straighten it then i wear a cast as much as possible to keep it straight.

did you say that you had torn tendons in there or...? i sort of remember you writing something about it recently, but i can't find the post.

my friend had a similar thing happen, and it kinda looked the same. she eventually had to have surgery on it to re-attach the tendons.

torn but it was long long ago. (15 years) they heal on their own and no one really noticed until later that it had happened.

the tendons are attached correctly, i had an MRI and that was a pleasant bit of news, just the scar tissue is getting in the way of the stretching of the tendons. when i get the splint at the end of the week i'll take a picture of that too, it is pretty funny looking, it is all about stretching them.

Did you have a good weekend? Mine was busy. Birthday party on Saturday. Sunday was especially busy. My dinner was a success.

it hurts so much less, it turns out i was holding it funny and that is why it hurt. the straightening now will just make it nicer when i get older.


i had a good weekend, work on saturday then shopping with my mom. we bought her a bunch of makeup and got her dinner. i think she had fun. yesterday i did laundry and rearranged my bedroom a bit. The shelves are up in the "den" so i was able to get stuff out of random closets and into there. it is funny how much better i feel when i know my closets are clean and organized. :)

YAY! it is super exciting you had your family over. i read your post on it but i wasn't in a commeting mode at the time. i bet chester had an awesome time.

Yup. Chester had a great time. He was quite comfortable with all the guests. Alec kept telling me how he was biting him, but I think that was so he could use the spray bottle on him. Hee hee.

it is sore right now but that is because i went in today. it isn't that bad. the splint thing makes it really sore. :(

I am sure your cast will not hurt as much, what with now there being a clever saying on it...
