Ok, I am amazed by some of the facts and numbers said in this piece. Do 47% of non-christians really believe in the virgin birth? WOW

Haven't had time to read the article yet, but Baha'i and Rastafarianism both say that the bible is right, they just place less emphasis on it because of newer prophets that they consider to be more relevant. I'm sure there are other religions like that as well, so that at least helps to account for such high percentages believing in the virgin birth...

The increasingly religious tone of the American Public, as well as a distinct shift from a more rational religious thoughts to irrational faith concern me deeply. Most of the christians that I talk to are unaware of the mistranslations that are well known and documented in the bible, an many react with verbal violence when I attempt to point this out. I am unable to see their position as I am unwilling to expand more than a little faith on any topic that I cannot easily get a correct answer for.
