i don't understand people that take vacation and don't go anywhere.

except my dad because he gets one day off for every pay period and has like 6 months of vacation saved up. he just takes every other thursday off.

Going places costs money, hon.

I'm more boggled by people who don't take their vacation, ie, Me!

yeah, i won't even go into my rant about how vacation is fun and worth it and there to use!

i use every second of my vacation and work it so i can have even more. also, i want today to go faster so i don't have to sit here pretending to care about this place. today my mind is already gone.

I just took the 3 days before labor day weekend off, I didn't do a DAMN THING! Sometimes people just need to not have an itinerary, when you go to places you usually want to get a set amount of things done, whether it be visiting people or seeing sites, whatever. Not going anywhere leaves all that time to yourself, and how you choose to use it is entirely up in the air.

I think that I need to get myself a sugar mama like Bertine of Jenni . .. then I can go to exotic places like Oklahoma . . .Oh, and Prague. And Hawaii.

Ok. Now I am officially jealous. The last time I took a day off I went to Albert Lea.

I think the last time I took a week off to get on a plane and go on vacation for an exteneded length of time was 1998, I went to mexico.

I have done several 3 day weekends in the last year or so (Vegas, DC, New York, Orlando, Palm Springs, Chicago, Albert Lea, Brainerd, Elk River, Forst Lake, Hudson)

BUT, can't afford the time or money to be gone for a week. DAMN IT!! I NEED MORE MONEY!

TODAY NEEDS TO GO BY FASTER

i am trying to think of where i have been on a plane since 1998:

europe - 3 times
russia
florida - 2 times
california - 2 times
new orleans - 2 times
colorado - 4 times

um... i think that is it

three day weekends are good. this trip i am not taking any vacation for, i got here early anyways and i am into overtime as it is so i am just leaving early (well, after 8 hours).

One of my co-workers is like that, she's off almost every friday. Some people who've been there a really long time earn so much paid time off that they literally could take 1 day a week off and never run out of time.

My boss, at this point, could take a whole year off if they would let her, and still have time left over.

If I didn't love to travel, I'd be all about taking random days off all the time.

The best part is when someone yells out "Fire Drill" and we switch.

Worst case scenario? We get stuck together. That's not so bad. Then we can put out feet up, eat chips and watch the other two...

Watching the other 2 could be nice. We could sit eating the chips with our feet up and give color commentary.

OK. We need to get this set up.

GIRLS?

Sometimes when I take time off for a vacation, I have intentions of going somewhere, but for whatever reason I'm too tired/exhausted, have too much to do to really enjoy the vacation, so it ends up getting cancelled at the last minute.

Having said that, I really really love my home, so I quite enjoy just spending time in it without the stress of having to leave to go to work.

In an average year I fly about 115,000 miles (6 trips to Japan so far this year). I usually put more miles on rental cars than I do on my car and truck combined. I stay in hotels 250+ nights and eat about 600-700 meals a year in resturants. For me the chance to stay at home, sleep in my own bed, cook a couple meals for myself and drive my car...well that is a vacation for me! :)
