Argh

So, I have the start of a migraine. Actually I have had it most of the day but it is slowly getting worse. I should take an imitrex and take care of it but the side effect of the pill will make it hard for me to work for about an hour. My migraine isn't so bad that I can't work but I am not working as well as usual (plus I can't spell at all right now).

So, what would you do?

[Poll #1474382]

Yes, I took it. The reason I took it is because I know that make terrible decisions when I have a migraine and I thought about what [livejournal.com profile] gwangi would tell me to do. Plus I just ate lunch and that sometimes makes the side effects of the pill less.

No offense - but d'uh!

Well... What I feared would happen did happen.

I just got pulled into a meeting where I needed to explain something complicated AND I had to make promises that I need to finish before the end of the day. However, my notes seem to be jibberish and I can't troubleshoot anything complicated right now and if held off until I was home to take the pill I would have been much more capable of thinking even if I was in pain.

Sigh, why can't they make a pill that works without these stupid sideeffects.

Must be a hysteresis effect; your brain overheats and needs a cool-down period. 'Nuff said.

I am sure this will be funny in about half an hour. :P

I probably would take SOMEthing, but I felt like being contrary -- I'm sure you're SHOCKED!

I AM SHOCKED.

My other option was 4 advil and a couple cans of moutian dew that might have gotten me to 5 pm.

Yeah, all the running to the bathroom would have distracted you from the pain.

I usually take Excedrin if I take anything, but apparently my migraines are WAY mild.

I find that the sugar helps, which is why I drink my caffeine but excedrin will help too. However, it doesn't stop them, just make it so I can function for a while.

For me it isn't really that pain that bugs me so much, it is that I become DUMB.

See that's just too easy. q:

Don't take advantage of the girl in pain!

THANK YOU.

I thought you took an Initech!

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I did. It didn't work so I need to take another one but not for another half an hour.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't drive right now or I would.

Go sleep in your car!

This was a mean pun.

That's a pun???

Knowing you already took it, I answered yes because once a headache (or migraine) has gotten to the point where you can't work, you can't really go back and you certainly can't function.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I could have made it managable with some advil and moutian dew but then I would have gotten a headache later from that much caffiene. Plus waiting means more pills when I get home to get rid of it.
