Last night gwangi and I tried to watch both The Stuff and The Toxic Avenger. They are both terrible and I couldn't get into them.

I remember loving The Stuff. Now, it reminds me of a really boring Erin Brockovich.

The Toxic Avenger was Zach's choice and he said he was into it but I am not sure how. It was so bad.

Oh! The Stuff! I saw that when I was pretty young and I couldn't eat yogurt for--seriously--half a year or more. My sister encouraged this aversion through constant torment.

I'm a fan of Toxie and other Troma films. Toxic Avenger, despite its absurdity, has an underlying message about the dangers of industrial waste. Troma films are definitely an acquired taste though; they tend to be high-camp gore.

I still LOVE The Stuff, it had a profound effect on me as a youngling. It's a poor-man's They Live, basically.
