New sink

Last night I was washing the dishes and the drainpipe fell off the sink. Again. This is the 4th or 5th time this has happened and I am done with dealing with it. The last time this happened we glued everything we could together but I think it is a lost cause.

So... we are buying a new sink. The current sink is a sink and counter together so we are going to have to buy some new counter top, which is okay because we can get that from Ikea for $80. We also need a new facuet because the one we have has been broken for a couple years.

Everytime we do something in the kitchen it makes me want to redo most of it. I want to change out the upper cabinets, fix the ceiling, put new lights in and paint the whole thing. However before we do most of that we have to get the electrical updated and that is so expensive. Sigh.

It would be so nice to move. Only two years until we can think about it.

That used to happen with my sink all the time. I hate compression valves. Eventually I just put something under the drainpipe holding it UP. That seems to actually work really well.

That said I'd kinda love a new sink.

It is just becoming such a hassle and we have downstairs neighbors. I just don't want the stress.

Have you tried just replacing all the pipes? Way cheaper (:

Replacing pipes is cheaper but sink-shopping is way more interesting. :D Point-counterpoint.

We have replaced all the other stuff a couple times. However, it is an odd sink with odd sizes so nothing really fits. Plus the treads on the bottom of the drain aren't catching anything and the drain is built in. Basically, it is time to upgrade to a sink that is easier to repair.

every time I examine our kitchen I am like ... WE SHOULD ...

and then I am like NO. UNNECESSARY AND EXPENSIVE.

:(

I know how you feel. I just have to fix it up enough to sell it!
