this is a much easier habit to get into during summer months, when the sun is shining at 6am. :)
i get up at 6am because i like knowing that i have a little bit of down time/quite time and i don't have to rush myself to get anywhere. i think you need to give yourself a mental "this is why this is a good thing" reason. because 6am is never easy.
You're going to have to start going to bed 1 hour 45 minutes earlier, because the amount of sleep your body needs won't change. This will not be easy to shift to. It may mean a shift in your social patterns, hobbies, etc. Start taking your dinner, and any medications you take, etc, earlier.
All I can think of is the Simpsons episode where Bart drinks a bunch of water to wake up early on Christmas morning and ends up burning the Christmas tree and presents up into a congealed pile of plastic.
You should buy me a bottle of tequila, because you're going to be so cranky after about five days that I'll have to self-medicate in order to make it through.
