Friends

I have awesome friends. My sister, sister-in-law and aunt threw me a quilting bee today. There was tons of food, lots of gossip and we made a quilt!

Most of the people either didn't know how to sew it hadn't done it a long time. However, everyone did awesome. Also, a bunch of people helped with the cutting! I was so impressed.

Anyways, in five hours we got the whole top pieced, the binding cut and ironed and even the back piece! I couldn't believe it! That would normally take me a month.

All I have to do is baste it and the quilt it.

Yay!

It was really fun. There were a couple babies there so it was super adorable!

I don't worry about people getting my address but I did figure out there was a setting so I could just post the city I am in. Thanks!

That is really cool! I talked to a woman over the weekend who told me she used to do quilting bees but her group doesn't do them any more so she doesn't quilt any more. I thought of you, natch, as the only quilter I know. Anyway, the quilting bee sounds amazing!

She should start up another quilting bee. I was actually thinking about doing another one this spring. However, instead of making a big quilt, I would thinking about doing a sewing project of some sort so everyone could bring something home.
