Music

On Friday [livejournal.com profile] gwangi and I went to the Detroit Cobras. Their opening band was Girl in a Coma. I hadn't really listened to either one of these bands before we went to the concert and I enjoyed both of them (though Detroit Cobras had a really rocky start). This makes me think I need to be introduced to more bands since I have been listening to the same ones I have listened to forever.

Do you have suggestions?

On a side note, we got to the concert and were looking for a place to sit because Zach had fallen off his bike on Thursday and banged up himself pretty badly. His knee was sprained enough that when I saw a couch half full I went over to ask the people sitting on it if we could share. It turns out it was [livejournal.com profile] all_hail_duke! I didn't know this because I had met him in person once and I think he has only posted pictures of himself a couple times. He recogized me because my icon is usually a picture of myself. It was cool to talk to someone that has been a lj friend for year that I really haven't talked to in person before!

Girl in a Coma? I've never heard them, but I can get behind their name. Obviously Smiths fans

I liked the song Barb Abney played on the Current today of theirs, a cover of David Bowie's Labyrinth song, "As the World Falls Down." I'd listen to more of them.

I suggest looking at the playlist on TheCurrent.org. You can listen to whatever catches your attention, see if anything is familiar.

Lastfm or Pandora are good ways to get introduced to new music. You can enter in the names of bands you like and it'll play bands that are liked by people with similar interests.
