road trip

i am leaving thursday to go to joplin which is about an 8 hour drive from here. so i want suggestions on music to listen to. i can burn cds before i leave, just in one of the rounds of car breakins last spring i lost the majority of my cds and i was a little sick of them anyways.

so suggest away!

plus, i think i scared the mormon boys that live down the street. really, they approached me, i was just an innocent bystander. i swear!

How about some good old Willie Nelson

that might work. i have the "redneck roadtrip" mixed cd that jenni made too.

just remember the mindwarp factor, if you listen to it for more than 3/4 of your trip and you drink afterwards you'll probably want to hang yourself, move into a trailer or beat someone with an ax handle

um... yeah, i couldn't listen to it for 6 hours. trust me on this.

did you ask them about their underwear? i'm still trying to get me a pair of them sexy mormon undergarments.

richard cheese, dude. where it's at.

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2004-11-09 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
nah, i was trying not to scare them. LOL.

hmm... who?

[identity profile] f-o-n-y.livejournal.com 2004-11-09 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
richard! cheese! you can call him dick. he's the guy who does the lounge versions of rock and metal songs. hysterical. also well-done.

look on ye olde mp3e server; he's there waiting for you.

also, i'm gonna take this time to go ahead and recommend cake, the black eyed peas, the trainspotting soundtrack, kings of leon, and any mixtape i've ever made, because

i

rule.

i'm going to recommend against rammstein and any band with umlauts in its name.

(except if you put 'shout at the devil' on a mixtape, which i'd totally do. then it would be ok. mostly.)

i'll stop now.

ok, i'll look those up, richard cheese sounds fun.

i am caked out right now however the others are good options. hmm...

i might ask for more tonight.

I will list albums that I like to listen to all the way through on CD on road trips.

Moby - Play
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack
Credence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle
Tatu - 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane (SHADUP! Guilty pleasure and I was listening to them almost a year before they released in America.)
Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Skynyrd's Innyrds
Hmmmmmm I can't think any more.. i would have to go out and look in my van to think of more..

I hope you have fun on your trip...

I have a couple hundred cds if you need something, I might just have it... One of these days, I plan to rip them all to MP3....

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2004-11-09 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, they were all already ripped to mp3, most of them were burned cds but they were all mixed cds that i didn't kept the order written down. that is what is sad about them, i was attached to the physcal cds.
