I miss [livejournal.com profile] gwangi's cooking

When Zach isn't here I tend to eat really badly. Well... not that badly but not "meals". This weekend I ate mostly fruit because it was on sale at the grocery store. Three pints of black berries over the weekend has to be good for you, right? This morning I had a pint of blueberries for breakfast and a banana. I had Wendy's for lunch. I had a piece of cake and some individual wrapped cheese slices for dinner*.

Tomorrow I am going to have strawberries, carrots, soup and whatever food is at my parent's house unless I have another migraine then I am going to eat sweets. I always want sweets after a migraine, I don't know why.

*I love individual wrapped cheese slices when I don't feel good. They remind me of my grandma.

I think Wendy's is the only bad thing in there.

I mostly worry about the lack of protein. I don't really cook anything and protein needs to be cooked.

Maybe if you're getting your protein from meat, which is actually a fairly poor source for protein. You don't have to cook dairy or nuts.

True. I do eat cheese so that is okay. I haven't been eating nuts very much. I am not that fond of nuts.

I get into the same trap, since my kids eat peanut butter as their main form of protein. (I don't eat peanut butter.) Dinner is when I "cook". That's why I try to keep deli meats or some frozen dinners in the freezer. That way, I can make myself some easy protein so I don't give myself a migraine from carbing up.

I wonder about the carbs and migraines. I don't eat a ton of carbs because I always feel crappy afterwards but I have noticed I get migraines afterwards. However, I also wonder if I just crave carbs when I am getting a migraine. Ha!

I also don't eat peanut butter. It would be an easy form of protein.

It's so normal to crave the sweets during and after the migraine. They're easy and comforting!
