Recipes

Hey I have a friend that is trying out gluten free stuff and just emailed me to ask if I had any good Quinoa recipes? Well... I haven't used it but I am sure some of you guys have.

So do you?

The only gluten-free recipe I have tried is pie crust. I have never actually cooked quinoa. The Wedge deli often has tasty quinoa salads. The Wedge in general is a good place to go for gluten free anything. From cookies to baking mixes.

For any gluten-free baking stuff I recommend Bob's Red Mill. They have a gluten free all purpose flour that is great and lots of cool mixes and the website has tons of recipes.

Hm...I don't have any recipes, per se, but we eat it a lot. We usually just make it up like rice, as a side, and use a touch of salt, pepper, butter. It's quite nice like that. Often we'll steam veggies on top of it, nice combo.

Something tasty I like to do with quinoa is to cook it & while it is cooking, saute up some spinach in olive oil, toast some walnuts & when the quinoa is done, throw it into the pan with the spinach, add the walnuts & some feta cheese & stir until the cheese gets all melty. It's pretty delicious.

I used to use it in place of rice for home made curry dishes.
