For me - numbers 8 and 10 go together. Dislike.

They do. It is one of those days.

I don't use cloth menstrual pads, but I wonder if Whole Foods would have them?

I should see or maybe the local co-op. Hmm...

http://partypantspads.com/ I think these can be bought locally.

I might just break down and order them online. I just am lazy.

They had them at Seward Co-op so I bought a couple. Yay! This will help, I have two but it just isn't enough anymore. SIGH.

The answer to #4 is, yes, female programmers ARE that rare - at least in the US. Their numbers are higher overseas (something like 11% of programmers in India and close to 40% in Iran are female). Europe as a whole also has more female representation in computer science as a whole.

It is jsut so weird. I have never worked with another female programmer. It is so weird to me. I am sure it is bound to happen at some point but it is just weird that we don't even get people to interview that are female.

[identity profile] scentedwoods.livejournal.com 2010-05-13 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I misread #4 as you're HIDING a couple of new programmers. Which, I totally get -- once word gets out that you've got more resources, the floodgate of requests open up.

Might want to HIDE them after you HIRE them!! :P

There are traditiojally relatively few women in technical jobs in general, which is sad. Speaking of traditional jobs, its his allergies, can't he vacuum?

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2010-05-13 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It is sad!

He could vacuum but the vacuum is my toy. Is that sad or what?

[identity profile] sterlingphoenix.livejournal.com 2010-05-13 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
That is pretty sad. Didn't you have a roomba?

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I gave the roomba to my mom. I love my vaccuum, it is fun!

[identity profile] bertine.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I have, and love, the diva cup. I just need back up for it at night since I now have an IUD and a much heavier flow.
