Dinner

Tonight [livejournal.com profile] gwangi is taking me out on a date in downtown Minneapolis and I get to pick the resturant. So, where should we go?

Palomino is pretty yummy and I think not too pricey. I hear Fogo de Chao is great, but expensive.

Today's groupon is a great deal for a yummy place downtown. $30 for $65 of food. If you sign up at the link below, I get $10! :P

If I did that coupon today would we be able to use it tonight?

I'm pretty sure they are usable right away. The faq section should say for sure. That restaurant recommends reservations too.

Fogo is super awesome, and totally worth it. Even for vegetarians!

Second this - Vincent has the BEST BURGERS EVER!

Also, not downtown but...

http://cremacafeminneapolis.com/index.php The food at Crema is excellent and they kind of have a romantic vibe. You might want to call and see if they still have their date night special that had something like 1/2 bottle of wine and two scoops of their epic ice cream included.

French Meadow is also awesome and has great dessert.

The Bulldog (near FM) has great burgers/bar food.

I dunno, what are you in the mood for?

I know it's a chain, but Melting Pot is really fun. My ex and I celebrated our 5th aniversary there and they totally spoiled us.

Honestly I don't eat in downtown that often. It's expensive. Palomino is good but I've really only had their happy hour specials. I went to M&S Grill once for the grand opening party, but only had apps. Barrio is that tequila place on Nicollet Mall. Great selection of fine tequilas but SHITTY service, so I don't recommend it unless you enjoy waiting an hour for a refill on your drink. Hell's Kitchen has a flamenco band that starts at 7:30 tonight. They have an epic grilled cheese on their menu. They have fancier dinner food, too. I just have not tried it.

El Meson is a nice little date spot. It's not in downtown, though. If you go, make a reservation and tell them you want a booth.

Hells Kitchen is tasty. I would definitely recommend that. Brits Pub is also good but kind of expensive for the food they serve (ten bucks for a pasty? Jeeze).

Fogo is fabulous. Bombay Bistro has wonderful Indian food.
