I am not sure if this is funny or sad

Every May Day I check my credit reports. I have one account in "negative standing". This is one of my two credit cards (one for travel, one for monthly payments so I can get FF Miles). When I was in grad school I sort of missed a payment one month, which sucked but I didn't have the money at the time (it was the reason I decided to stop grad school and get back into programming).

CC Funny

Anyways, I guess I won't go back into good standing until August of 2011.

Who do you use to check your credit reports?

You're welcome!

Yup! You get it free once a year!

As someone who looks at a lot of credit report, I don't think this is as bad as you think it is.

I know, it just annoys me because of the "you fucked up and now you have to live with it for another couple of years" tone of the messages around it.

I don't think that's what it's trying to say. After 4 years, most things don't affect your score that much. And things don't actually fully fall off your report after 7 years like some people think. Do you know what your credit score is? Maybe I'm off base here, knowing you, I would guess that your median credit score is probably above 750, which means that your in the top bracket, and don't really have anything to worry about.
