Calamine is for chicken pox and skeeter bites. Aloe is for sunburns!

that is what i told him! well, i didn't say the aloe part.

i am a little disturbed that the worst of the hives are on the sunburn.

No no no

As a recent major sunburn victim I have some experience here.

The aloe in most lotions is completely worthless. You must use FRESH aloe. So soothing and wonderful that is! Fresh aloe doesn't necessarily HAVE to come straight from the plant though, you can find fresh aloe in two stores. In order to tell whether your lotion contains aloe, look for two things: an expiration date, and an EXPENSIVE price tag.

Other remedies of some value:

noxzema will keep your skin moisturized better than most moisturizers, but it will make you stinky.

hydrocortizone cream will sooth, but isn't that great for you

antihistamines can help the itching

vitamin e oil can help restor your skin's health and make it feel smooth. It's a good idea to not leave your feet oily for too long though, as apparently oil can make it harder for your body to dissipate the heat, and some other things I don't remember.

Your hives may be an allergic reaction to the sun OR sun poisoning, if your burn is really bad.

Maybe when we're older we can go in for skin cancer surgery together.

i am pretty sure i am going to get skin cancer. i have so many allergies that i can't use half the stuff you listed (hydrocortizone causes a rash on top of my hives, gotta love that).

i do think the hives are an allergic reaction to the sun. I always get them when i go out side and spend too much time in the sun. though i am a little concerned with the rather major bruising that occured with them this time. feh, if it wasn't the sun, it would have been something else, like grass.

sigh.
